![]() my daughter got a scratch all across her back from it. ![]() Be careful on the new slides, they do beat you up a bit. The sno Cone shack was a hit at only 3 bucks a cone. Not sure why but it needs to be re implemented. They used to have sprayers situated throughout and now they do not. Also, wear water shoes or your feet will burn walking from attraction to attraction. We also love their chicken and fries and it is fairly reasonable. I did not want the 4 drinks because we bought refill cups but they did not have an option for just pizza. We always just get a large pizza but that went up because now they make you pay 36 bucks and you get a large pizza and 4 drinks. It is 15 bucks for a small one and 20 for a large one. I also like we can pay to bring in our own ice chest now. We had a birthday party here and it was nice having a reserved table and we where able to bring in our own cupcakes. There are still some things to be improved but I know that all takes time and money. I am glad to see things getting fixed up, painted and repaired. I did not get a pass this year but I did use one of the specials so I could see what improvements have been made. I did enjoy the animals, and it's nice to see them updating rides(even tho they probably shouldn't do overhauls and close rides midsummer) however, after being injured and exposed to something so foul I can't imagine ever getting back in the water here. I honestly believe the employees I reported to ignored my concerns and went about their day. Nope! I saw a horde of unsuspecting swimmers floating around in that disgusting water, presumably unaware of what they were really swimming in. My party and I left for lunch, and after returning to get our stuff from the lockers I fully expected the wave pool to be closed so they could clean it. They looked at each other and burst out in laughter! I suggested they tell a maintenance manager or someone who could address the issue but I don't believe they did. I immediately went to the nearest employees at the tube rental station and reported what I had found. ![]() It didn't get better from there. After enjoying some time in wave pool, I noticed solid human waste washed up in the shallows near the entrance □. A little boy was overheard saying the green speed slide also burned his back. The yellow tube slide(The Banana something) jerked me up onto the side walls where there was no water and my back got burned from the friction.upon reaching the bottom there was too much water built up and I was completely submerged, causing water to rush up my nose and fill my sinuses with chlorine water. Unfortunately, in the few hours I was here a couple things happened that make Safari Joe's a place to avoid. I wanted to be able to give this place a glowing review, because it's obvious the new owners are trying to make this place better than Big Splash was. Overall, we had a good time and will go back. Yes, we could have moved but, we had already set up camp. Several workers walked by and noticed but, said nothing. One downside was we had a group of young 20 somethings next to us. We rented a tube to share but, you can bring in your own tubes. 2 of the slides were closed for maintenance. Don't try to sneak in food because they check your bag throughly! My kids loved the wave pool and spent most of their time there. Bring your own water bottles because they water filling stations. Food was crazy expensive we had 2 slices of pizza and a hamburger combo and it was 30.00. I would also recommend paying the extra for taking a cooler in. We got there about 10:30am we found chairs that were shaded. We had a nice time with our 9 year old twins. Supplies can also be donated we go through many cleaning supplies, hoses, newspapers etc.Ĭlick here if you are looking for info about community service. We visited Safari Joes for the first time last weekend. All proceeds go to benefit the animals and keep our sanctuary up and running. Don't forget: it's tax deductible!ĭonating is a wonderful way to contribute if you don't have time to volunteer. If you'd like to contribute to our cause, but don't have time to volunteer, then help these animals by donating. Volunteering is another way to get involved! Those who donate their time to Safari's Sanctuary will get to work with the animals-from learning how to feed, maintaining their enclosures, and more. By allowing the public to interact with and play with these unique animals, we are able to educate others on the difficulties of caring for exotic wildlife, and thus prevent future rescues. Zoo 2 You is our fun, educational way of bringing some of our exotic animals to your social event-whether that be a birthday party, camp, school, festival, etc.
